Cecil McBride was honored at the Hokie Flying Club’s August Meeting with cake & reception. Cecil is being recognized as “Chief Flying Instructor Emeritus“. Cecil shared, as one of the founding members, that it was 60 years ago the Hokie Flying Club was established.
Cecil also shared this tip he learned early on in flight training: When performing a pre-flight, always roll the plane a bit forward to check the tire bottoms for exposed rope (i.e. worn out).
